the loft

I mentioned that I live in the Mt. Rainier artist lofts. I moved in, in May. If you want to know about it, check out www.artspaceusa.org. My loft is one of the ground floor spaces, which are the biggest ones in the building (1250 sq.ft. w/ 13ft. ceilings). This is great, but the catch is that it had cement floors, no closets and only one bedroom. Thanks to a lot of help from my friends, Dorothy (the psychic from Eastern Market) and Pat (my neighbor and fellow artist), it now has tiled floors, painted walls and some closets from Ikea. I started a mural in my daughter's room and I plan one for the living room, as well. I'll start to post photos soon.
I haven't had much time for painting lately. As soon as my living space is squared away, I'll get back to the easel. For the last 4 years I was showing at Eastern Market every weekend. It was too cold this winter to deal with it and I had persistant sinusitis, so I stopped setting up. I'm addicted to the place, so I still go to shop and visit. If you haven't been to EM, you should check it out.
The SYNERGY arteams will be coming here for a meeting on Aug. 14, and I hope to make more progress before then. It will be great to meet everyone!
